FAQs
Q: Do I have to include ghosts, werewolves, vampires, witches, zombies, or anything that goes bump-in-the-night in my horror story?
A: No. Anything scary, including psychological horror, terror, trembling, or shaking, will be accepted. It’s not about the blood splatter! (Even though that’s nice, too!)
Q: Will my story be copyrighted?
A: Your story is automatically copyrighted when you write it. You do not relinquish your copyright when submitting. If you are chosen as a winner, you will provide us with written permission to publish your short story in E-book and/or print-on-demand format. Naturally, you will be given full credit and recognition, since it is your work, after all.
Q: If I am selected as one of the winners, will my story be edited?
A: Yes, we reserve the right to perform edits in collaboration with the author.
Q: Can all of my stories win, or only one?
A: If your allowable 3 submissions, any number of your entries may be selected as winners, including all three.
Q: What if my three stories have different lengths, which price do I pay?
A: You pay the price of your longest story, i.e. if one story is 7,000-10,000 words, you pay $35 (USD), if your longest story is under 7,000 words, you pay $25 (USD).
Q: How many winners will you choose?
A: That depends on story length. Our intention is to give exposure to as many talented authors as possible. With that said, we cannot predict the length at this time.
